If you are a compassionate and social person and want to give back to your community this year-then this opportunity is for YOU! Our volunteers at Sanctuary Hospice provide companionship, support and encouragement to patients and families when it's needed most. From sitting at the bedside and sharing life stories to making cards, baking cakes for birthdays, playing music, photography or sewing memory bears and knitting lap blankets our volunteers use their skills and talents to provide comfort.
A new volunteer orientation is scheduled for Thursday Sanctuary Hospice Offices; Liberty Plaza, 5000 Rockside Rd Ste 100, Independence, OH 44131. Committed individuals 18 years or older interested in learning how they can help hospice patients and their families through volunteering a few hours weekly or every other week are welcome. Volunteering for Sanctuary Hospice is set to fit an individual’s schedule and is flexible. Description
Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
