Put your love of horses and people to good use. There are several Equestrian nonprofits that dedicated to promoting the physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being of people with special needs through equine assisted therapy. Special volunteers are needed for the Barn Team (horse turn-out and turn-in and stall duties, Horse Leader (groom, tack and lead horse), and Side Walker (Assist riders). Make a difference in the lives of others through equine interaction. Seniors welcome.
The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program specializes in placing adults age 55+ into service in their community. Let us help you find your best fit and connect you to an agency where you'll find purpose and meaning in your work. Volunteers support a variety of causes, including elderly care, food and housing insecurity, disaster relief support, animal care, cultural interests and more. The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
