ORGANIZATION: King County Library System

Spanish-speaking Tech Tutor Volunteers needed to teach computer classes at Auburn Library. Orientation, training, and instructional materials provided.

Tech Tutor Volunteers help people improve their computer skills by teaching computer classes, offering One-on-One (1:1) Computer Help, and proctoring software certification exams.

Common topics include computer basics, Microsoft Office Programs, email, web navigation, and social media. Newer topics may include Adobe Software, programming skills, and certification exam prep.

Tech Tutor Volunteers are:

  • Positive, patient, and encouraging to the diversity of library patrons and skill levels
  • Able to explain computer information in a simple, clear fashion
  • Able to pass a Washington State Patrol Background Check
  • Able to commit to four (4) hours a month for five (5) months, at minimum
  • 16 years or older
