Schedule: Varies based on tutee and tutor availability
Position Summary: The Refugee Career Pathways Program engages refugee adults in individualized
career pathway coaching and planning. This includes job-ready skills development such as: resume
building, interview practicing, skills assessments, enrollment in occupational training and certificate
programs and support services to successfully complete training programs. We also support
professionals in obtaining licensing credentials and employment in their fields
Writing Tutors: We are currently seeking adult volunteers to tutor clients (with a range of abilities) in
writing in such areas as: professional emails, reports, or general academic writing. Clients would benefit
from someone who enjoys writing and teaching writing.
Conversation Partners: We are currently seeking adult volunteers for conversation partners for a range
of clients who have varying degrees of English language speaking and listening ability. Clients would
benefit from someone who is outgoing and enjoys discussing many different topics.
Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse individuals
Ability to follow guidelines when meeting with individuals off-site
Ability to maintain communication with the individuals career coach.
Background check necessary
Time Commitment: 3-6 months, weekly or biweekly basis
