ORGANIZATION: KING WILLIAM FAIR

The historic King William Fair takes place Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. We love our 1000+ volunteers that make this such a success year after year. We welcome any new volunteers to come take part in this much loved day of fiesta. Here are a few descriptions of duties:

- Admission Gate Greeters to greet and welcome guests, assist with putting on wristbands, and thanking guests. Shifts are 2 hours.

- Kids Kingdom Art Tent is located at Upper Mill park and is our family friendly interactive arts location. As a volunteer you will work with kids and families to make and create art projects. Shifts are 3 hours. (Minimum age is 16+).

- Green Team volunteers are our sustainability and recycling team. You will be stationed at a recycle station in the fair and interacting with guests about which are can be recycled. We will provide script and training. Shifts are 2 hours.

- Security Gate Staff to be stationed at the perimeter of the fairgrounds at designated gates directing traffic and preventing unauthorized coolers from entering the fair. Shifts are 2 hours. (Minimum age is 8+).

Mission Statement

Located in a quiet enclave just south of downtown San Antonio, the King William Association promotes the health and welfare of the King William neighborhood by preserving the historic and residential nature of the neighborhood and by fostering educational, recreational, and cultural activities. Each year on the final Saturday of Fiesta Week, the neighborhood holds its own fair where the proceeds go to the preservation of the historic neighborhood.

Description

Beginning with a delightfully funky parade, the day-long event offers a variety of art and craft vendors, lively music, dance, Kids Kingdom play area, and delicious food and beverages. But what really sets this event apart is the sparkling beauty of its historic setting near the heart of downtown San Antonio, where the King William neighborhood entices Fairgoers to relax and unwind along shady, tree-lined streets adorned with stately Victorian homes, cozy cottages, and gracious gardens.
