Calling all volunteers who have a passion for inspiring youth! Join The Future Project for a rewarding and inspirational volunteer opportunity with Future Camp - a transformative three-day bootcamp designed to jumpstart the future of high school students. We are bringing over 100 young people together from across Omaha schools to discover their power and to create impact on the future of their lives, community, and the world.
We are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles and with flexible shifts (from half days to all 3 days) based on your availability and interest:
- Future Coaches work directly with young people helping to guide their journey through all 3 days of transformative self discovery and then support them getting into action by creating a project that will impact their community (training is provided!)
- Event Production Staff support with logistics, greeting, setting up, providing food and space support, and bringing high energy to the space. These volunteers can stay for half day shifts, a full day or all 3 days
- Specialists bring their expertise in supporting with a specific role, including DJ, social workers, photographers/ videographers, or AV support who spend a full day.
Volunteers over the age of 18 with an interest in supporting young people would be ideal, particularly those who have an interest in education, leadership, community organizing, social justice, social work, change making and entrepreneurship. You do not need to have prior experience; just a love for youth finding their agency, as you help bring your energy and inspiration to 100 high school students from across Omaha in this unique, transformative service opportunity!

The Future Project is a new national movement to dramatically transform education by building a world in which every student is inspired. Our mission is to give all students the opportunity to have a partner and project in inspiration for every year of high school.
Description
The Future Project is the new national movement to inspire America--starting in our nation's public schools. We will launch in October 2011 in high schools in New York, New Haven, and Washington, D.C. We unite students in urban public high schools with volunteers from their community--young professionals and students at nearby colleges and graduate schools--in partnerships and teams and challenge each pair to spend one year building a passion-inspired project that makes a powerful difference in their school or community. During weekly, 90-minute meetings, students also imagine and pursue inspired futures, whether admission to college or leaps forward in leadership or grades. Above all, both partners discover what moves them--and learn to channel it for good.
