  • 4 people are interested

Each year, the Legal Foundation of Washington Board of Trustees presents the Charles A. Goldmark Distinguished Service Award to an individual or organization that has assisted in providing deep and meaningful access to the justice system. This year, we are proud to recognize the outstanding work of Sal Mungia, Partner at Gordon Thomas Honeywell, with the Goldmark Award. The 2019 LFW President’s Award goes to UW’s Washington Leadership Institute.

The Goldmark Award Luncheon is attended by 900+ legal aid supporters: attorneys, judges, and community leaders. This year’s Luncheon will be on February 15th at 12:00 at the Westin Seattle. Coffee, water and snacks will be provided and you are welcome to join us for the lunch.

Mission Statement

Equal civil justice for low-income people.

Description

The Legal Foundation of Washington (LFW) funds more than 35 nonprofits that provide civil legal aid across Washington. Legal aid clients are low-income families living at or below 125% of the poverty line. People helped by legal aid include veterans, survivors of domestic violence, tenants facing discrimination or eviction, seniors, children and youth, immigrants seeking safety, and consumers.

The Campaign for Equal Justice is our state’s only coordinated, annual fund drive for civil legal aid, and the fundraising arm of the Legal Foundation of Washington. Last year, the Campaign funded legal services for over 30,000 Washingtonians in poverty.
