The Broward County chapter of SCORE (www.broward.score.org) is conducting a search for a new chairman to lead our non-profit organization. SCORE Broward is the Fort Lauderdale-based chapter of the national SCORE organization which provides mentoring and business education to small business owners. This is a non-paid volunteer position. The chairman will oversee 70 local volunteers and an executive committee which performs the functions of the organization. This is an ideal community service opportunity for a candidate who wishes to serve the small business community in a high profile position. The chairman serves as the primary representative of the organization to the public and is expected to make frequent presentations of the organization's services to the business community. The duties of the chairman require approx. 15-20 hours per week.

Founded in 1964, Broward SCORE is an active non-profit organization of over 70 volunteer mentors, workshop presenters, and business support advisers. We operate diverse programs of business support services provided at no cost or low cost to start-ups, existing businesses, and those who are thinking of going into business. Our volunteer mentors get a great deal of satisfaction and reward for helping to grow our local business community, and give back by helping others succeed.
