The City of Raleigh and Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy invites everyone to participate in the 1st Annual Dorothea Dix Park 5k race to benefit the future of Dorothea Dix Park. The Dorothea Dix Park master planning process is nearing completion and after a hopeful Master Plan adoption, the project will transition into the design and construction. The proceeds from the race will go to support design and construction efforts moving forward as we create a park for everyone in the future.

Volunteer Duties: Greeting Runners/Walkers as they arrive and as the finish the event. Also, ensuring race course is safe be manning intersection through race.

Volunteer Impact: Volunteers are helping the department offer a safe and fun event for the community.

Work Environment: Volunteers will be standing during race, outside at the park. We will be outside, so please dress for the weather. There will be port-o-potties on site. This event has the possibility of working on both paved and unpaved parts of Dix Park. Be prepared for uneven ground.

Volunteer Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer. All volunteers are required to fill out a release form. This event can not count towards court-appointed / suggested community service hours.

Special Instructions: More details will be send to volunteers prior to the event.

Group Registration Information: Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. All volunteers must register as individuals, but if you are a part of a group, please list the group in the "Registration Notes" when signing up.

**Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.**
