We are continuing this vital service during the current coronavirus/ Covid-19 emergency, taking additional safety precautions.

During the current health emergency, only one volunteer per 4 hours shift supports our staff as they take water, sandwiches, blankets, clothing and personal supplies to people staying outside in and around Albany, NY. Joseph's House staff drive the van.

Shifts start at the above address and run from 2-6pm and 6-10pm 7 days a week, year-round.

Shifts are chosen on an online calendar: you do not need to have the same availability week-to-week. You can sign up to come in pairs on Saturdays and Sundays, and as individuals on weekdays (when we have 2 staff on the van.)

As we try to keep visitors to our buildings to a minimum at the time, prospective volunteers will be interviewed and oriented to the task over the phone. There are Confidentiality and Volunteer Agreements to sign before your first shift. Contact us for the short application form. Or visit our website.
