Outreach Van support: direct service to homeless individuals in Albany NY

We 2 people per 4 hours shift to support our staff van driver as they take water, sandwiches, blankets, clothing and personal supplies to people staying outside in and around Albany, NY.
Shifts start at the above address and run from 2-6pm and 6-10pm 7 days a week, year-round.
Shifts are chosen on an online calendar: you do not need to have the same availability week-to-week. You can sign up to come in pairs.
Prospective volunteers have to meet with the Joseph's House Coordinator before their first shift. There is a short application form and an orientation/ training which lasts about one hour.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

- We are looking for people who care about people whose lives have worked out very differently from their own. We offer non-judgmental services to end homelessness. Volunteers do not advise or counsel - just bring comfort and as they support staff.
