Ride for Kids is the longest-running, most successful motorcycle charity event in the nation. Since 1984, motorcyclists have raised funds to help children with brain tumors, which are the top cause of cancer death in children. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is looking for a Media/Marketing Sub-Chair to assist with the 2019 event.
Position Title: Ride for Kids Logistics Sub-Chair
Works with: Task Force Leaders; oversees Logistics committee team focused permitting, layout/set-up, route, parking, and volunteer recruitment
Position summary: The Logistics Sub-Chair is responsible for all event logistics, planning, implementation and execution, including start/end points, set-up, break-down, event layout, volunteer recruitment, and ride development.
Major Responsibilities:
- Recruit a sub-Task Force team of 3-5 volunteers to assist with Ride for Kids logistics and planning
- Work with PBTF staff to coordinate ride logistics including parking, route, site plans,start and end points, equipment rentals and set-up/break-down
- Assist in securing Ride for Kids sponsors and participants
- Attend monthly Ride for Kids volunteer Task Force meetings and provide updates to Task Force Leaders
- Coordinate and lead sub-Task Force meetings to meet goals and ensure volunteers stayon track with their assignments
- Promote Ride for Kids through daily professional activities
- Attend and provide volunteer leadership at Ride for Kids
Per month:
Attend Task Force meetings as scheduled by TFL's - 2 hours
Provide monthly correspondence to TFL's - 1 hour
Track ride logistics progress and ensure volunteers complete tasks - 4 hours
Additional time requirements: One initial planning/training session with PBTF staff & TFL's- 2 hours
