Ride for Kids is the longest-running, most successful motorcycle charity event in the nation. Since 1984, motorcyclists have raised funds to help children with brain tumors, which are the top cause of cancer death in children. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is looking for a Food Sub-Chair to assist with the 2019 event.
Position Title: Ride for Kids Food & Beverage Sub-Chair
Works with: Task Force Leaders; manages volunteer committee of 1-3 volunteers
Position summary: The Food and Beverage Sub-chair is responsible for securing vendors & food, including breakfast and lunch, for event
Major Responsibilities:
- Recruit a sub-Task Force team of 1-3 volunteers to assist with Ride for Kids festivitiesand planning
- Reach out to local businesses to recruit vendors for Ride for Kids
- Attend Ride for Kids volunteer Task Force meetings as needed and provide updatesto Task Force Leaders
- Assist in securing Ride for Kids sponsors
- Promote Ride for Kids through daily professional activities
- Attend and provide volunteer leadership at Ride for Kids
Time Required (approximately):
Per month:
Attend volunteer Task Force meeting - 2 hours
Track progress of committee and help solicit sponsors and vendors - 4 hours
Provide monthly correspondence to TFL's - 1 hour
Additional time requirements: One initial planning meeting with Task Force Leader - 1 hour
