ORGANIZATION: WHEAT

This semi annual event gets our Clothes Silo in shape for the new Season. We'll take out our summer clothing and replace with fall items. We'll get the shoes in order, do some window decorating, re-work the displays and just RE-DO.

Come out for this communtiy event and help WHEAT make the Silo Boutique a special place for our clients to visit.

WHEAT's Clothes Silo provides free. professional clothing to over 8,000 women in need every year for their interviews and first days on the job. We ARE helping women succeed through this empowerment program that gives the women that something extra to boost their confidence!

Our goal is to provide a beautiful boutique atmosphere for our clients with the best selection of outfits for all types of employment. You will be helping us achieve this when you help out at the TurnOver Event!

The mission of WHEAT is to educate, advocate, engage and empower individuals to action in the fight against hunger and poverty.

Description

WHEAT: educates through workshops, civic speaking, leadership training and key note presentations; advocates through active participation within the legislative process, both locally and nationally; engages and empowers individuals caught in the poverty trap to self sustenance through their own participation in the anti-hunger campaign and by inspiring others to volunteer toward an end to hunger.

PROGRAMS

The Clothes Silo, a clothing boutique empowering disadvantaged women through the provision of free workwear.
The Fair Trade Store, fighting global poverty with fair and ethically traded gifts and goods.
WHEAT’s Management Training, providing skill building workshops and on-the-job training throughout the Phoenix area.
