Description: Mentors (Both Male and Female mentors needed)

This position is intended to develop relationships with A.T.T.R.A.C.T’s youth. This position encourage and promote positive family and peer relationships, as well as serve as an advocate for positive personal development and community. This position will also have opportunities to cultivate and develop innovative ideas related to A.T.T.R.A.C.T’s programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

A Mentors primary responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

• Empowering them to resolve current issues and to develop coping strategies for the future.
• Provide a model for a healthy, trusting relationship through clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries.

• Acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts and encouraging them to find ways to use them.
• Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate.
• Engage in activities outside of the home to help expose youth to new opportunities and
  experiences.
• Attend monthly mentoring sessions with the designated mentor group.
• Maintain confidentiality of participants.
  
• Must be available at least 4 hours a month

Qualifications :

• Willingness to provide emotional, social, and practical support within limits.
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of one’s boundaries and ability to set limits with others.
• Ability to connect with the youth without judgement
• Completed background check/clearances or willing to undergo.
• Working knowledge of MS office and program management software
• Must be a Professional (21+) or Junior/Senior in an accredited College/University
