Come join us and be a part a new pilot program in Orange County: SAGE (Special Advocates for a Greater Education). This program is a collaboration between the Dispute Resolution Center and the Children's Rights Society of Orange County. Supportive and caring volunteer mentors are needed to be an educational advocate. Mentors focus on on-to-one education support with children in foster care, or children who are residing with parents at home while a neglect petition is pending. The purpose of the program is to help the child be more successful in school. SAGE volunteers attend Family Court hearings and present updated reports to the Judges on the educational status of the children they are assigned. There is an upcoming 1 day training on February 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
