The Tiffany Windows Education Center is a budding museum, cultural, and historical organization that is devoted to promoting and preserving its rare and unique collection of Tiffany stained glass windows as well as the historic building in which they are housed.
We have several internship opportunities available for those interested in a career in the museum field.
1) General: This internship is best for those interested in a career in museums, particularly small museums. You will work closely with the Director to tackle the day-to-day challenges inherent in running a small museum. Tasks can include (but are not limited to) helping with grant research, greeting visitors and/or giving historical tours, assisting in programming and events, creating programming and events, market research, and creative problem-solving. Each internship in this category will be customized to the intern's career goals to support them on their future endeavors.
2) Research: This internship is for those interested in a career in archives and/or historical research. We are beginning the process of moving, cataloging, and assessing our small archive as well as wanting to extend our historical knowledge of the church building, Tiffany windows, Back Bay, etc. The majority of the work in this position will be reading through and assessing mid-to-late 20th-century materials from Arlington Street Church's archives and/or conducting secondary historical research to provide context for the materials within the archive. For this internship, applicants must have prior experience (through either coursework or previous volunteer/work positions) on historical research and working with primary and secondary sources.
3) Marketing: This internship is great for those who are social media savvy, love creative challenges, and are interested in the outreach side of museum work. As a small, grassroots organization, we are looking for a few interns who will find creative and low-cost ways to market our museum as we grow. Events planning can be a part of this internship if so desired. Those interested in business are welcome to apply, but those who are pursuing museum work as a career will be given preference.
For these internships, we require one day a week, but interns are welcome to add more if they like:
For Spring: Shifts are Mondays or Thursdays 10am-2pm, Sundays 1pm-4pm
For Summer: Shifts are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday 10am-3pm, Sunday 1-4pm
Because this is an unpaid internship, we try to find other benefits to make this a worthwhile experience. This can include direct mentorship from the Executive Director to support each intern in their educational and career goals and job market coaching (including job searches, resume help, and cover letter writing).
Internships open only to college students and older. No high school applicants, please.

Mission Statement
The Arlington Street Tiffany Education Center works to share with in-person and online visitors the Tiffany windows at Arlington Street Church. It is a program of The Foundation for the Preservation of 20 Arlington Street, a non-sectarian charity created in 2016 to restore the Church’s landmark building and share its historic and artistic legacy with the public.
Description
We are proud to share the resplendent beauty and history of our Tiffany stained glass windows with visitors, tourists, and locals in the Greater Boston Area. Our church’s unique heritage has played a essential part in the history of our nation, as does this building, with our unique series of Tiffany windows also tell the story of those who worshiped here and their world -- Boston’s "Golden Age" at the turn of the 20th century. Our Tiffany Education Center offers self- guided tours with an audio guide as well as docent-guided tours during the summer season of May-October.
