Aeon for Ocean (AFO), a 501(c)(3), Our mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our community engagement.
Job Description
Work closely with the education committee to research and develop educational program and materials.
Responsibility
- Develop educational program that align with Aeon for Ocean’s goals and missions.
- Curriculum and activity development for K to12.
- Development of presentation material for K to 12.
- Outreach to public and independent educational institute to educate on K2W Program.
- Work with local community and government official.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in research and data analysis such as natural and environmental science or other related fields. Equivalencies of education and experience may also be considered.
- Work experience as a teacher preferably middle school or high school level, curriculum designer, or instructional designer
- Comfortable learning and using a variety of technical solutions to complete project deliverables.
- Precision, accuracy and high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Strong ability to self-motivate, multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Very comfortable working in a virtual team environment incorporating group problem-solving; shares information and responsibility.
- Knowledge of Common Core State Standards and incorporating standards into the curriculum.
- Education and/or work experience with online learning environments, Learning Management Software, game design, etc. is a plus.

Description
Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans and our role in protecting this planet.
Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons!
