RiseUp Malawi is looking for an intern/volunteer who can commit 5-10 hours a week working at a home based office out of Westchester, Los Angeles. Some of these hours may be worked remotely once we establish rapport. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get into the non-profit/charity sector. You will be working directly with the executive director and learning how a non-profit functions from the inside out, with an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of children in Malawi.
Responsibilities to include social media management (Facebook & LinkedIn), grant research, website copy and blog contributions, donor mailouts, and online file organization. We are looking for someone who has a heart to serve others, who is proactive and confident in sharing ideas and suggestions, who is comfortable on social media and in Google Drive, and someone who is hands-on and ready to jump right in. Former travel experience in Africa and/or video editing skills (Final Cut/iMovie) desired but not a requirement.
Please note this is an unpaid, volunteer position but a unique opportunity to mentor under someone who built this non-profit from the ground up. Also, there is an adorable shiba-inu puppy who graces the office so you must be a dog lover!
