Maker Faire Burlington

Maker Faire Burlington unites makers of all kinds, creates inspiration and promotes STEM education for all. As a volunteer, you have the chance to help make this vision possible. In fact, it cannot be done without people like you. Our dedicated team of volunteers, many who return year-after-year, ensure all makers- whether visiting or exhibiting- are informed and engaged while they learn and discover new things.

Sign up at burlington.makerfaire.com for a shift that meets your needs as soon as possible. Shifts include set-up the day before all the way through tear-down after the Faire ends. During the Faire, which lasts from 10 am to 5 pm, we can use volunteers from 7 am to 6 pm. Although we will be sending out reminders as we move toward the event date, you will need to sign up by the deadline of April 1 to get a tee-shirt.

Consider volunteering with Maker Faire Burlington.
    • Support the maker movement while having fun and being inspired.
    • Get a 2019 Maker Faire Burlingtion t-shirt!
    • Access to the Faire before and after public hours.
    • Receive service credits for school (check with your advisor).

All ages are welcome. Students 11 to 15 may volunteer; it will be required that a parent or responsible party complete a volunteer waiver. An exception could be made if volunteer is with an organized group- such as a school, Scouts, etc.- that has their own waivers. Volunteers 16 and up may sign up on their own... but it’s always more fun with a friend!

Volunteer duties include: Greeting (entrance monitoring, visitor count, event material distribution, and fielding questions); Event Hospitality for exhibitors and performers (potty/lunch breakers for those holding down tables, water/snack drop-off and needs resolution); Publicity (flyer distribution, poster hanging, marketing of Alamance Makers Guild events and projects); Street Team Wrangling (social media and other writing projects); Heavy Lifting (set up and tear down!).

Maker Faire Burlington is organized and produced by an all-volunteer team and sponsored by Alamance Makers Guild. If you have any questions, please email us at info@alamancemakers.org.
