Volunteers are needed to help with such tasks as: handle and process mail, agency and community referrals for clients, assist applicants in completing forms for assistance, collate of forms, switchboard duties and interpreting services.
Offers excellent opportunity for obtaining office experience.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission offers a learning opportunity in the Eligibility Services Program. This program helps to provide low-income families with basic food, financial and medical assistance through the following programs: SNAP, (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, (TANF) and Medicaid. Tasks available are varied and placement is based upon the volunteer's interest, capability and the availability of openings. This placement offers valuable insight into social services and the relationships between federal, state, community and individual needs.
