Interested in animals, conservation, zoos or sustainability? Got a few hours a month to give? Then join us on Saturday, February 23 from 10 a.m.-noon to learn about volunteer opportunities with the Detroit Zoological Society. We are looking for adults 18 years and older to help us meet our mission of Celebrating and Saving Wildlife.
There are over 10 different volunteer opportunities available. All volunteers complete an application, background check and attend a new volunteer orientation. Training is available and benefits include free admission to the Detroit Zoo.

Note: Volunteers do not have direct contact with animals. The Detroit Zoological Society does not participate in court-ordered community service.

The mission of the Detroit Zoological Society's Volunteer Services department is to provide a dedicated, trained volunteer corps of people who bring unique skills, love of nature and concern for the environment. Through meaningful educational activities, dialog and special events, the volunteers help advocate the Zoological Society's mission: "Celebrating and Saving Wildlife."
Description
The Detroit Zoological Society is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that operates the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Situated on 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits, the Detroit Zoo is located at the intersection of 10 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, just off I-696, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
