Have you been thinking of new ways to get involved with the organization? Our annual summer program in Glenview runs from July 10-29, 2019 and we want you to be a part of it! We are currently looking for Host Families. Do you know a family that would be willing to host a teen from the Middle East for 19 days? Join us for an incredibly transformative experience!

Whether hosting an Israeli, Palestinian, or American participant, hosting allows families to be immersed in the Hands of Peace (HOP) experience. It is a substantial commitment, but the experience is well worth it, as you take part in a community dedicated to making peace possible.

Host families must be willing to drive their visitor to and from the program activities (car pools can be arranged), provide breakfast and dinner most days, participate in the activities open to family members, and support their visitor as they experience all that HOP has to offer. Host families develop long-lasting, rewarding relationships with their HOP visitor that extend far beyond the short Summer Program!

We encourage anyone who is interested to apply! Host families often have a young person participating in Hands of Peace, however some of our host families have had very young children, or older children who have already moved out. Couples or singles without children are encouraged to host two participants.

If you have questions, please contact us at info@handsofpeace.org.

Mission Statement

Hands of Peace empowers American, Israeli, and Palestinian youth to become agents of change.

Each summer Hands of Peace brings a group of interfaith Jewish-Israeli, Palestinian Citizens of Israel, Palestinian, and American teenagers to Chicago for a 19-day, dialogue-based experience with one another. We stand for creating impactful and lasting change through developing future leaders who are committed to a positive and just world.

While the Summer Program is the focal point of our organization, there are ways for everyone, regardless of age, to become involved!
