This intensive six-week writing workshop serves adults with disabilities who are interested in writing and presenting their story at public events. During the first half of the class, participants write several different stories and then choose one story to develop into a 4-6 minute speech. In the second half of the class, participants learn effective public speaking skills, use a variety of microphones, and receive one-on-one coaching from the class instructor, volunteers, and other participants in order to deliver an engaging, polished speech at a public showcase for family, friends, and members of the community. As a volunteer project assistant, your duties will include serving as a general assistant to the instructor, providing one-on-one coaching to participants, scribing for participants, and other duties as required.

If the following dates and times work with your schedule, we encourage you to apply for a volunteer position! Please submit the OMOD Volunteer Applicationno later than Friday, March 8th at 5 PM. Email Eric Clow or call 512-454-9912 for more information.
