Art Connection-Rhode Island (AC-RI) is looking for a Social Media/Photography Volunteer to join our team.
AC-RI has a mission of making original artworks by local artists available to those without art in their daily lives. Our work focuses on placing original artwork in Rhode Island’s social service nonprofits.
The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites. Applicant should also be proficient at capturing photos and/or videos and have their own equipment/camera. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and posting on social networks, participating in online outreach and promotion, and for program and event photography. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our organization.
Reports to: Program Manager
This is a nonpaid, volunteer opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Work with Program Manager to create and implement social media campaigns
- Create engaging blog and social media content
- Provide support to our team at Annual Event
- Create high quality images and video
Skills
- 1+ years’ experience in social media/marketing
- Experience with photography
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Mailchimp
- Working knowledge of Publisher and/or other publishing software
- Experience with social media analytics
Key Duties
- Assist with streamlining organization social media accounts, ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities.
- Post updates to the organization social media accounts.
- Monitor and reply to messages and comments.
- Build followers by approaching potential Art Recipients and donors.
- Maintain a monthly social media calendar.
- Help to create video content.
- Upload and manage organization blog posts & newsletters in Wix.
- Create and send one email broadcast/digital newsletter per month.
- Meet with Program Manager bi-monthly.

Description
TAC-RI connects artists and donors to social benefit organizations who might not otherwise be able to acquire original art due to financial restrictions. Though we are in the service of placing artwork into the lives of low-income constituents and staff of clinics, shelters and other community service agencies it is the process by which we operate that modestly reveals our latent mission. Before we curate the donated art into an exuberant presentation we call for a varied sample of staff, volunteers, and patrons - a full representation of the community which the receiving organizations serve - to take part in the decision making process. By way of finding a home for donated artwork, TAC-RI provides a platform for empowered and collective decision making.
