Volunteers offer the gifts of time to patients and families. Sometimes that gift is the simple act of listening to a patient's life story, reading from a favorite book or simply just being present. Opportunities include; Patient Support, Bereavement, Administrative, and Veteran to Veteran.

Whether you volunteer behind the scenes at a local office or one-on-one with families, you'll be joining fellow volunteers helping families navigate life's closing chapters. Our Washington Office see's clients in Washington, Wellman, Fairfield, Wayland, and surrounding areas. We're thankful when musicians, therapy pet owners or those with a heart for service share their talents and companionship. Let me know where you are interested in volunteering!

Training and Mentoring available. Reach out for more details. We work with your schedule. Must be 18 years old and agree to a background screening.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Hospice Compassus is to honor life and offer hope to individuals facing a life-limiting illness by supporting them with compassion, integrity and excellence. We have offices in Davenport, Washington, Cedar Falls, and Cedar Rapids and see clients all over Eastern Iowa!

Description

Hospice offers peace and comfort to patients and their families by reducing the stress, pain and other symptoms of a serious illness. Hospice care includes medical, emotional, social and spiritual support.

Many believe hospice is only for the final days or hours of life. This is not true. Hospice is not about dying; it's about helping patients and their families live as well as they can when life expectancy is limited.
