We are looking for adults who are willing to sit with a child to play a game, bring them lunch, read a book or just talk, either in our office or the county Division of Family and Children Services office while case managers locate a foster home. This opportunity is for people who have time 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday who can be the buddy of a child who is waiting on a foster home. Often times these children are in a room in the child protective services office for several hours without much to do or play. We'd like to help them have a better day!

Volunteers must complete a criminal background check and drug screen; may not have previous DFCS intervention; must be in good health; and must be able to lift a small child. Duties might include changing a diaper, helping a small child in the bathroom, or working with a child with special needs.

We are looking for folks who can be available one day a month or one day a week. A schedule will be created for case managers to call if they need a volunteer on a particular day so each volunteer may or may not be utilized each week/month.

Volunteers will be trained by Family Alliance of Paulding, Inc. personnel.
