Birthday Wishes would like to invite you to join us for our Third Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service! We will be hosting groups on January 21 st at our Newton Centre office to build craft kits. Every month Birthday Wishes needs to provide 800 craft and activity kits to our birthday party attendees in shelters across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. These kits contain all the supplies necessary for each child at the birthday party to create their own craft and then play the game or activity with the other children. The themes for the crafts are planned out for the entire year by our Party Activity Coordinator and are a different theme and activity each month. The kits are built by volunteer groups throughout the year. Every year, we host volunteers on MLK Day to build enough craft kits for three months (2400 kits).
We still have 1-2 openings in the following time slots:
- 9:00 am - 11:30 am
- 11:45 am - 2:15 pm
- 2:30 pm- 5:00 pm
Each slot will be able to accommodate one group of 6-8 people, one group of 10-12 people, and one group of 15-20 people. If your organization would like to fill more than one slot, please make note in your form submission.
If you are interested in joining us, please fill out this Interest Form no later than Monday January 7th. Please select all time slots that will work for your group, so that we can do our best to accommodate everyone. *Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-serve basis*

Mission Statement
The mission of Birthday Wishes is to improve and empower the lives of homeless children and their families by providing joy, play and hope through the magic of a birthday party. Our goal is to ensure that children experiencing the trauma of homelessness have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday joyfully, surrounded by family, friends and others who care.
Description
Birthday Wishes brings the magic of a birthday party to thousands of homeless children each year. Founded in 2002 as a volunteer organization serving one local shelter, Birthday Wishes has expanded its program to serve more than 200 shelters and transitional living facilities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Long Island, New York. In 2019, over 25,000 children experienced the magic of a Birthday Wishes party, due in part to the amazing number of volunteers who help us each month.
