ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Eastern New York Region

The American Red Cross is looking for a qualified individual to manage our content creation team. The individual chosen will manage and provide assignments for a team of volunteer writers, photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to generate professional content that helps to showcase the Red Cross at work in the Eastern New York Region.

Responsibilities Include:

- Collaborating with the Regional Director of Communications, Content Creation team, and other Red Cross leadership to identify and carry out ways to tell the Red Cross story.

- Maintaining an editorial calendar and content creation schedule in coordination with Regional Director of Communications.

- Delegating creative assignments to Content Creators, ensuring appropriate distribution of work.

- Providing constructive feedback (including proofing and editing).

- Coordinating with the Digital Communications team and Regional Director of Communications to share content on local Red Cross platforms.

- Treating all clients, volunteers and partners with dignity and respect.

During large-scale disasters
:

- Working with Public Affairs leadership to identify daily storytelling opportunities (focus on client perspectives and service delivery).

- Managing Content Creators covering disaster response.

- Filtering creative content to appropriate channels (may include Digital Communications team, Media Relations team, operational leadership and/or national headquarters).

The Red Cross will provide the following training
:

- Orientation to American Red Cross.

- Public Affairs Essentials (Online).

- Introduction to Red Cross Communications.

- Fundamentals of Disaster Public Affairs, National Response (Webinar).

- Social Media Basics (Recommended).

Qualifications Include
:

- Possess strong writing, editing, organization, delegation and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrate an ability to communicate in a friendly and engaging manner.

- Be able to work well on a team and to provide leadership.

- Show an ability to create and meet deadlines.

- Be comfortable giving and accepting constructive feedback and edits.

- Exercise familiarity with basic computer operations; ability to work and communicate remotely.

- Prior experience with writing/photo/video a plus.

- Prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
