Scoring robots on the field

FIRST LEGO League Challenge has more than 200 teams (9-14-year-olds) in Maryland and a supportive community of local partnerships hosting 16 competitions from December 2023 - March 2024. This is a one-day commitment. A technical or robotics background is NOT required for Judges (although these are fun roles for engineers & techies). Besides building and programming a LEGO robot to navigate challenges on the playing field, teams will develop innovative solutions to the FIRST(r) LEGO(r) LEAGUE Challenge for the 2023-2024 season which is called MASTERPIECEā„  where students will celebrate how theater, film, music, and design bring people together and allow us to create the future. Judging categories are Project, Robot Design (technical understanding of hardware, software, or design), and Core Values (teamwork). Training is provided. Judges need to be 21 years or older. Many other positions such as referee and logistics are also available.
