Help Kids Learn Coding Skills at Guerneville CoderDojo

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Sonoma County Library

The Guerneville Regional Library seeks enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers to help run our upcoming CoderDojo club for children and teens ages 8-17. You do not need to be a programmer to mentor at a Dojo! Dojos benefit from having mentors with different skills, backgrounds, and levels of knowledge who provide support and encouragement to CoderDojo youth (Ninjas). A lot of mentors are attendees' parents who have no technical experience at all when they start. Training and support provided by our CoderDojo champion, and through the CoderDojo community of free, open and local programming clubs for young people

Volunteers should be committed to volunteering 2 hours once a week, enthusiastic and excited about mentoring youth, and be willing to learn. Volunteers will go through several trainings before the official launch of the program in January. For more information or to apply, please contact Melissa Carroll (mcarroll@sonomalibrary.org) at the Guerneville Regional Library.
