There are a lot of reasons to join the team at A-KEEP. From our passion for our causes to our office field trips, we thrive on providing critical knowledge and services to our community. We work with sharp, hardworking, self-motivated people who are as invested in the process as the outcome.
Volunteers are important members of the team and play an important role in the success of each event. We are looking for energetic volunteers of all ages who are interested in building a community that celebrates cultural diversity, educating the public and creating meaningful partnerships. As a community event volunteer, you may be involved with event planning, promotion, event set-up and breakdown, fundraising, or day-of-event activities.
Community event opportunities are available in the following programs throughout the year:
The Korean Cultural Experience (November - February)
Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon (February - April)
Taste of Korea (December - March)
Chuseok - Korean Thanksgiving (July - September)
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Acting as primary point of contact with vendors
- Assist with on-site management of the event, including set-up and breakdown
- Photography and videography
- Ticket distribution
- Online and offline promotion of event
- Clean up
- Meal preparation
- Greeting and directing guests
- Managing the flow of the crowd
- Other miscellaneous tasks
Support for volunteers:
Event volunteers work under the direction of various staff members or other volunteers, who will provide task-specific training.
Volunteer benefits:
Volunteers may be able to attend events free of charge or at a reduced price, will receive A-KEEP's newsletter and be recognized in A-KEEP's annual/impact report.
Event volunteers also have the opportunity to learn skills for professional development, interact with members of the community and/or gain leadership experience.

Mission Statement
Alabama Korea Education and Economic Partnership (AKEEP) has a primary mission to provide multilingual multicultural diversity education programs to the students and professionals of Alabama and Korea. The secondary mission is bridging the differences between institutions and corporations of Alabama and Korea for local economic prosperity as a global partnership facilitator.
Description
Volunteers will contribute to the mission of AKEEP by:
- assisting our organization with public relations & community outreach both in-person and online social media platforms
- coordinating events designed for K-12 schools in the Montgomery area students, families, and other community non-profits and associations
- research grants and fundraising opportunities for AKEEP’s programs and services
- building and/or maintaining an internal database for students, contacts, stakeholders, partners, and sponsors of activities.
