The Ohio River Sweep is an annual, volunteer, cleanup of the Ohio River and many of its tributaries. During a single day, volunteers from the six states which border the Ohio River remove litter from the shoreline. Over 125 cleanup locations are hosted in the counties which border the Ohio River. The event is easily accessible to many audiences in the Ohio River Valley, including young people, families and community organizations.
All of the 2019 locations will be listed: www.OhioRiverSweep.org
The Ohio River Sweep has been organized by Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) since 1989 and jointly sponsored by environmental agencies in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.
