Volunteers will join Ellanor C. Lawrence Park staff to work on much needed improvements of a popular trail system and the surrounding natural areas. This project can use anywhere from 5-50 volunteers. The work accomplished through volunteers will be a tremendous help to beautify the park. Volunteers will remove non-native invasive plants to protect native species. Non-native invasive plants overrun native vegetation, reducing habitat and biodiversity.
Volunteers will work along the trail system and into the natural areas to remove the invasive plants and give room for native species. Additionally, volunteers may also spread gravel along the trail to improve access for walkers and runners.
Volunteers should wear long sleeves, pants and sturdy shoes. Staff will provide tools, gloves and other equipment needed for the projects.
Kids younger than 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
