My Neighbor’s House Safe Haven

Our "Young Mothers Succeed" Mentorship Program was created to support and guide young mothers (and fathers) and abandoned pregnant teens through homelessness and difficult life circumstances. While our programs provide academic planning/support, job assistance, personal and professional development, and other skills that will help them to regain direction, independency and confidence, we are in need of short-term residential "safe houses" where these young people and their children can be safe while we work to secure permanent housing. Volunteers that open their homes to them will act as a foster parents but will not be responsible for their day-to-day living expenses.

Safe House volunteers must consent to:

  • Background and Drug Screening (On every person over the age 18 in the home)
  • Interview with Board Representatives
  • 2 Home Inspections (1 with and 1 without the Young Mother)
  • Training
  • Policy/Placement Agreement

At this time, we are currently serving the following counties in Georgia: Fulton, Cobb and Douglas
