Imagine what an impact you could have on a teen or tween girl as you empower her to learn new skills and set goals, all while having fun and making new friends! Girl Scouts Nation's Capital is hosting a one-day event for girls to learn about saving, budgeting, planning for college, and gaining leadership skills. We are looking for Black/African-American volunteers to assist in facilitating financial literacy workshop for teen girls in grades 6-12. Volunteers will be asked to lead a workshop on financial literacy. We will email facilitator packets, an agenda, and detailed information about the conference ahead of time, and will provide all the information and materials you need. Experience in financial planning, banking, or other professions preferred, but not required.

Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We seek to accomplish this by providing girls opportunities to develop their potential and have fun with their peers in a supportive, all-girl setting.
Description
Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
