Overview of position:
- Schedule possibilities (times are somewhat flexible): Thursday afternoon from 1:00-3:00, Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30, Friday afternoon from 1:00-3:00
- Group meets from February - May, contingent on enrollment
- Location: 100 Franklin Street, Boston, MA (GPS address 201 Devonshire Street)
- Facilitate student leadership group, encouraging student advocacy and community engagement
Description of Position:
- Facilitate student leadership group for adult ESOL students of diverse linguistic, cultural, religious, socio-economic and educational backgrounds
- Survey student leaders and assist in the creation of student-selected group project to be carried out within the ILC or in the community
- Model language and skills, suggest next steps, and connect students with resources needed to achieve project goals
- Outline teacher and program expectations to the students
- Communicate classroom/student issues to the Program Coordinator or Director in a timely manner
- Keep attendance records and any other required paperwork
- Document lessons and activities
Qualities Needed for Position (please address in cover letter):
- Bachelor’s degree in ESOL, Education, or related field (preferred)
- At least one year experience teaching adults (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Computer proficiency (e.g. Google Suite, Microsoft Office, internet)
- Bilingual a plus

Our mission is to give non-native English speakers an opportunity to meet their personal, education and employment goals by offering a range of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and services.
Description
We have been providing ESOL services continuously since 1975. We serve between 600 and 700 adults annually. Following ESOL instruction, students obtain employment, enter training programs and are accepted into institutions of higher education. We serve a diverse population of adults from more than 40 countries, with various education and socio-economic experiences. Our program offers a range of English language services including:
-Beginner to Advanced Conversation, Pronunciation, and Grammar
-Transitions to College, University Success Programs
-English for Employment
-Computer Literacy
Class schedule includes morning, afternoon, and evening classes ranging from 6 hrs/wk to 25 hrs/wk.
