CONTACT of Mercer County announces its Spring 2019, HOTLINE Volunteer Training!
Courses are on Tuesdays every week starting February 11th for 10 weeks. There is a morning class which is at 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and an evening course which is at 7 pm to 10 pm. Classes are held at 60 South Main Street, Pennington NJ, 08534. Sessions 1 to 6 will include Mental Health First Aid training, which classes are open to everyone without commitment of volunteering. After these sessions, volunteers will have met the pre-requisites for CONTACT's higher level f training which will be taught in Sessions 7-10. Following the classes, there will be apprenticeships which include talking on the CONTACT HOTLINE and National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. A training donation of $35 is requested for the course.

Description
CONTACT of Mercer County is a family of programs which focus volunteer action to deal with community needs. A crisis intervention HOTLINE is staffed exclusively by trained volunteers. The Telephone Reassurance Program utilizes volunteers to make daily or as scheduled "check-in" calls to seniors or shut in adults. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) helps mature volunteers - 55 plus - locate and remain in community service activities focused on a host of community needs.
