Prepare for blast off, break out of your earthly constraints and go INTO ORBIT for one of our first FIRST LEGO League Qualifiers of the season!

At the end of the day, awards will be given and winning teams will advance to Renaissance Jax's Regional Championship at the Prime Osborn Convention Center on February 22-23, 2019.

Volunteer Roles include:

  • Emcee
  • Queuers
  • Scorekeeper Assistant
  • Team and Volunteer Registration Desk

Volunteers receive complimentary breakfast and lunch.

About the INTO ORBIT CHALLENGE...
The 2018/2019 FIRST(r) LEGO(r) League season will transport your team into space, where you’ll explore, challenge, and innovate in the vast expanse of space.

About FIRST LEGO League...
FIRST LEGO League challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During the INTO ORBIT season, teams will choose and solve a real-world problem in the Project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO(r) MINDSTORMS(r) technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under the FIRST signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism(r).

Renaissance Jax builds and retains talented, creative young people in Northeast Florida to inspire and retool human ingenuity through opportunities involving FIRST Robotics, STEM education, and mentor-driven experiences.

Description

Renaissance Jax is striving to continue the growth of FIRST Robotics in Northeast Florida. We are the FIRST Lego League Affiliate partner for our region and are working to establish sustainable robotics teams from Kindergarten to 12th grade. We support the following programs: FIRST LEGO League Junior (FLL Jr.) for children of ages 6-9, FIRST LEGO League (FLL) for children of ages 9-14, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) for students in 7th-12th grade, and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) for students in 9th-12th grade.
