Volunteer duties may include removing invasive plants, hauling cuttings into piles by the trails and running them through a wood chipper, maintaining existing trails and making new ones, planting native species and picking up trash. The workday is also a time to enjoy nature and learn about ecological restoration and the natural and cultural heritage of the San Antonio River. Gloves and tools will be provided. Snacks, swag and an opportunity to win a super cool prize are generously provided by REI San Antonio.

The San Antonio River Foundation's mission is to enhance the natural beauty, recreational use and public appreciation of the entire San Antonio River through Bexar, Wilson, Karnes and Goliad counties. The River Foundation relies on community support and involvement to fulfill our mission.
Description
Since our founding in 2003, we have been supported by donations from the private sector - individuals, businesses and corporations. A 501(c)3 organization described under code 509(a)(1), the San Antonio River Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors who receive input from a variety of advisory committees. The River Foundation offices are located inside the San Antonio River Authority building, 100 E. Guenther Street.
