The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company is looking for two experienced and creative instructors to serve as the inaugural coaches for our Girls' Modern/Liturgical Dance Team. We anticipate holding auditions for the team in February and will include girls in grades 6 to 12. The team will practice for three Saturdays each month from 4:45pm to 6:45pm in Downtown Rahway (3 short blocks away from NJ Transit's Rahway station).
The SoulDeevas are being trained to represent the Northeast in a variety of genres, emphasizing scholarship, sisterhood and soul. The team will be an addition to our currently operating senior majorettes and step teams, which include girls in grades 6 to 12. The team will run until June and will then reconvene in September. The goal is to attract about 15 girls.
Coaches with experience in ballet, modern/contemporary or liturgical dance are welcomed to apply. Candidates should be self-starters, energetic and creative! High school seniors with significant dance experience are welcome to apply.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
