Volunteering

Pop-Up Artist volunteers will assist visitors with informal drawing and painting activities in the Studio, a dynamic maker-space offering real tools and materials to our visitors of a wide age range. The volunteer will serve as an "expert" in drawing and painting and create additional capacity for the museum to offer additional experiences to our visitors.

The Pop-Up Artist volunteer is responsible for creating a welcoming, relaxed environment for visitors to explore fiber arts. The volunteer will work on their own art alongside visitors and have informal conversations about the methods and techniques they are using

What this role involves:

  • Welcome visitors with warmth and friendliness
  • Actively invite both adults and children to play with and explore materials
  • Introduce activities and interact with visitors as they engage with materials and tools
