Mission Statement
JustWorld International is devoted to breaking the cycle of poverty by funding local partners around the world helping children thrive. JustWorld International works through the international equestrian community and its extensive networks to fund and sustain programs that provide basic needs to children with little opportunity to receive support from other sources. JustWorld International’s Rider Ambassadors raise awareness and funds for our programs. JustWorld supporters learn about the needs of others across the globe as they give thousands of children a leg up to a brighter future.
Description
JustWorld International is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the United States and a registered Association 1901 in France. Canadian donations can be made through Tides Canada ( http://www.tidescanada.org/funds/justworld-international-fund/). JustWorld International focuses its efforts on some of the poorest communities in countries such as Honduras, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Brazil, where public education is limited or inaccessible, threatening many children’s chances for productive lives. JustWorld helps children who live in poverty that is unimaginable to many people in the developed world. Some examples include:
- Cambodian children who contribute to a family’s meager income and food supply by scavenging barefoot through garbage sites to contribute to their family’s food and income supply.
- Honduran kids in rural communities who have little chance of attending "free" public schools because their families cannot afford the $50 needed each year to pay for uniforms and school supplies. Honduran kids in urban slums with no access to books and reading activities.
