Chaparral House is a consistently highly rated Nonprofit Skilled Nursing Eldercare Community providing resident-centered care in a home-like environment. We also have received a variety of awards for staff training and quality care and our lively activities and volunteer programs.

We are seeking new board members who are passionate about elders receiving high quality care and being able to live out their lives to the fullest; who will assist in the governance of the organization as well as play a role in securing the necessary financial resources. Board members are expected to spread the word about Chaparral House’s mission, utilize personal relationships and contacts to help find new donors and volunteers, donate to the organization annually in an amount that is personally significant and join in efforts to develop new fundraising ideas.

Board members also help ensure the Board is fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities and attend board meetings which take place quarterly (plus one). The meetings are well organized from 6:15 to 7:45 PM at Chaparral House on the 4 th Thursday of January, March, May (plus one meeting) , June (Annual Meeting), and September with a Holiday Dinner in December.

Board members also attend significant program events such as our annual open house.
