  • Week 2: June 24 to June 28
  • Week 3: July 8 to July 12
  • Week 4: July 15 to July 19
  • Author's Camp - Write and Illustrate Your Own Book: July 22 - July 26 Class time 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. On Friday, from 12:00-1:30, we'll have an exhibit for the kids to showcase their books.

TASKS FOR CAMP:
  • Visual Art - From 8:45 to 9:00 am: Greet the parents, help the children get ready for the class (get their aprons on and find a seat). From 9:00 to 10:15 am assist the teaching artist with the instruction of the children and restock supplies as needed. Around 10:15 the children will start eating their snacks, this is a good time to start cleaning up/putting things away and also assist the children that are a bit behind with their art projects. Once everyone is done with their snacks and projects, we will take them to the Garden Pavilion (building next door) for the Performance Arts class.
  • Performance Arts - From 10:30 to12:00 pm: Assist the teaching artist with the instruction of the children, the artist will explain any details. At Noon take the children back to the Classroom for their parents to pick them up. Make sure the kids don't forget their things, especially on the last day of camp.
This opportunity is open to anyone interested and comfortable with helping in a class environment with children age 6-10. No artistic background needed, experience working with children or in an education environment is a plus.

About Arts for All Nevada

Location:

250 Court St, Reno, NV 89501, US

Mission Statement

Arts for All Nevada is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Reno, seeking to integrate the exploration of arts and culture into the lives of all, starting with our own community. We offer a variety of quality fine art classes to the public, implement art programs in the school systems, and steward the historic Lake Mansion responsibly as a community center for exploration of arts and culture. While our emphasis is on those who have a disability, are disadvantaged, at-risk, or underserved by the arts, we recognize that every individual in our community has a role to play in the arts. People of all ages, skill levels, backgrounds, and experience can find their place at Arts for All Nevada, as our classes and programs focus on a variety of different art movements and media including visual art, creative movement, drama, and literary expression. We envision a world unified by the arts, where communities engage, create, and grow together.

Description

We envision a world unified by the arts. Participation and appreciation of the arts would be encouraged in every community, and art would be prioritized in every individual’s daily experience and education. Quality art learning experiences that are specifically designed for students with disabilities would be just as accessible as art learning experiences designed for those without disabilities. Every art educator would be prepared and equipped to not only include students who have disabilities in their instruction, but to serve them well through specialized curriculum. Accessibility gaps in the arts would be completely bridged. Thoughtful and effective art curriculums and programs would be available, funded, and initiated in every school district in every community, reaching those of all ability levels and income levels.
