You MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THE TRAINING AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION.
Volunteer to be trained to facilitate workshops to help people with chronic conditions learn skills to improve their health.

Training is four days and leads to certification.
Tuesday, February 19
Thursday, February 21
Tuesday, February 26
Thursday, February 28
9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.


Trained facilitators will teach:

  • Techniques to deal with pain, fatigue, depression
  • Healthy eating
  • How to communicate effectively with family, friends and professionals.
You must facilitate one workshop a year to maintain certification.

WHO WE ARE

Detroit Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) is a nonprofit agency that serves older persons, adults with disabilities, and caregivers residing in Detroit, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, Highland Park & the 5 Grosse Pointes. We are one of 16 Area Agencies on Aging in the state of Michigan and 622 in the nation.

WHAT WE DO

We assist older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers by removing social, economic, physical, and psychological barriers and creating aging-friendly neighborhoods through nutrition, health and wellness, and senior independence.
