4-H Leaders and Volunteers Needed! 4-H is a unique youth development program that teaches life-skills through experiential learning. Volunteers educate in a "learning by doing" format by teaching with hands-on learning techniques. Rochester's youth are in need of more positive adult relationships! How can you help? It's easy - Just tell us what you're passionate about and we'll find kids that want to learn about that too!

How can you get involved?

  • Leading a 4-H club
  • Helping out with 4-H activities in a classroom
  • Teaching a topic you know a lot about - once or regularly
What is the time commitment?
  • 100% YOUR CHOICE!
  • Once a month, once a week, bi-weekly, etc.
Sounds like a lot of flexibility and independence... What support will I have?
  • Our 4-H office will provide training, tools, and support!
What sorts of subjects can I teach the youth?
  • Animals (Dogs, Cats, Horses, Rabbits, etc.)
  • Astronomy
  • Automotive Skills
  • Cosmetology
  • Fashion
  • Finance
  • Gardening
  • Nutrition
  • Photography
  • Public Speaking
  • Science
  • Volunteerism
  • The possibilities are endless!
