Take Book Donations to Goodwill

Lots of people donate their used books to the library, but we can't keep them all. We take all the books we can't sell at our book sale to Goodwill so that they can be recycled.

Boxes of books are heavy and take up lots of space in our workroom. Help us out by delivering boxes of used books to the Platteville Goodwill, located off Hwy Business 151 by Wal-mart.

We serve our community and the southwestern Wisconsin region by offering library materials (books, DVDs, newspapers, and more!), public computer access and free Wifi, and library programs like storytimes, technology classes, book clubs, and more.

Description

We moved into our new building on Main Street in June of 2017. There is now more room for our collections, our library programs, and our patrons. We're busier than ever!

Volunteers can help us in a variety of ways. In the past, volunteers have helped us by:

-keeping our bookshelves neat and in order
-sorting book donations and setting up for book sales
-setting up for library events and serving refreshments
-and more!

Some volunteer opportunities are ongoing, and some are on-time events.

  • This is a semi-regular volunteer job. We get more donations some weeks than others, and there are always lots of books to deliver after a book sale. It takes about 20 minutes to pick up the books and drive them to Goodwill.
  • There are no used book emergencies! We can work with your schedule to establish a delivery schedule.
