Pet Assistance Foundation

  • 5 people are interested

Pet Assistance Foundation's Long Beach branch does adoption and rescue of unwanted cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. We are looking for a reliable person to transport our animals to local vets once or twice a week. This is to give them needed medical treatment and also spay and neuter surgeries prior to adoption to their forever home. Most visits would require you to drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon. We need a person who truly is an animal lover to work with our team! We will pay for the gas, too! If you are interested, please call our office during the afternoon on week days at 310-732-1230 OR 562-336-1275. You can also email us at petassistance@gmail.com. We look forward to speaking with you!

Mission Statement

Pet Assistance Foundation was founded in 1955 to help stop the suffering of animals caused by pet overpopulation and to promote spay/neuter efforts throughout Southern California. We do this through education and financial subsidy to low income pet owners. We also support animal rights legislation. We are supportive of other animal welfare groups and work with them to improve the lives of animals, their owners and the community.

Description

PLEASE SEND US YOUR PHONE NUMBER, SO WE MAY CONTACT YOU TO SPEED UP THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

Pet Assistance Foundation has nine branches in communities through Southern California, including contract branches in Victorville and San Diego. We have a toll free hotline that we advertise online, by brochure and through yellow page directories. Our hotline is for pet owners who are very low income to call if they need help to spay or neuter their pets. Volunteers who work on the hotline return calls, determine the financial needs of the pet owner and make a donation towards the surgery if warranted. We then assist in finding a good low cost vet in their area that takes our donation pledge. We also are a referral service for people who need help in finding a good vet for spay/neuter and other needs. We often in assist in calls that have nothing to do with fixing a pet. Some of our branches do garage sales to raise money for medical emergency calls. Our volunteers help find good vets in their area that will lower their prices for our referrals and take our subsidies. Our Long Beach branch does adoption and rescue of cats and dogs; they hold adoption events every weekend. They have people who foster the animals and help with daily care.
