Sometimes people in hospice care have limited or no family in the area. Offering a comforting caring presence in the last hours of life is a tremendous gift you can give. Holding their hand or a comforting touch on the shoulder so they know someone is with them as they near the end of life's journey. It is a tender connection offering compassionate security and perhaps relief to family that cannot be present, It will lift your heart and enhance your sense of well being.

Bedside vigil volunteers are called as needed for 2 to 6 hour shifts. Accepting an assignment is up to you. Sometimes only a short stay is needed to offer relief to family so they can get a meal or freshen up.

Training is provided so you can feel confident and comfortable in your role as this precious type of volunteer.
Please contact robert.pamenter@aurora.org or call him at 920 252-5066 to discuss becoming a bedside vigil volunteer.
