The Huntington / Seal Beach Surfrider Foundation chapter invites you to come out for a beach cleanup.
Beach cleanups are good way to give back to your community, exercise, meet new people, learn new environmental issues, and prevent trash from going back into the surf and ocean polluting the water and possibly where it could be eaten by sea life.
All are welcome to come out and volunteer. Make sure to dress properly for the weather and walking in sand. Bring gloves (non-rubber/latex single use), hats, sunblock, and a reusable water bottle.
Cleanups begin at 8am and end a 12 noon.
Make sure when you get there to sign in. Hang on to your trash so it can be weighed and sorted. If you need volunteer/community service hours get those when you get the trashed weighed.

Mission Statement
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.
Description
WHAT WE DO:
Protect our oceans, waves and beaches. Surfrider's most important coastal work is carried out by its 90 chapters located along the East, West, Gulf, Puerto Rican, and Hawaiian coasts. Surfrider now has over 50,000 members in the USA; in addition, International Surfrider chapters and affiliates have been established in the countries of Japan, Brazil, Australia, France and Spain.
VOLUNTEERING:
The Surfrider Foundation's biggest strength is our grassroots, community based chapters and their ability to act as local activists for the protection of the coast. In order to strengthen and build on these core competencies, the organization must continually expand our chapter network's volunteer base. There are many levels of volunteer activities to suit your taste. Whether you are a first time volunteer or an old pro, don't be shy about asking questions of our chapter members. Everyone has to start on some level and we are grateful that you are taking the first step. Attend a local chapter meeting and ask about volunteer opportunities. Remember that the Surfrider Foundation is only as effective as you are, our volunteers. We don't exist without you!
